Ehingen

We rolled into Ehingen in time to shower and change and go in search of food. Taking care to remember which side of the hall to walk on as it was a recently renovated building with our floor being added in the attic .

Our hotel was only 50 yards from the gateway into the old city.

We wandered in and soon found a pub to our likings.

Gasthof von Ochfen

It had that old world feel about it.

We took a table by the window, which may have been less than technically brilliant as John is obsessed with pebbles and the restaraunt had little window displays set in a sea of pebbles.

I don't think so Wendy.

John quickly dismantled the display whilst Nick and Wendy tried to trick him out of his stones.

The menu displayed a no of local alernatives. I had venison stew, shot by a local farmer, Gasthof Kirchen, washed down with a carafe of local cider. Doing it tough.

Wendy opted for the Spargle, white asparagus, very trendy, season just opened.

After dinner we checked out the obligatory town square with its fountain.

and Maypole.

Back to the hotel in time for a hint of sunset from our top floor bedroom window.
