Sigmaringen to Ehingen

10th May 2016

This was a longish day, over 70kms but almost dead flat as can be seen from the chart to the left.

We stopped for morning tea beside the river and watched a guy in an inflatable canoe prepare for a trip down the river. His wife dropped him off and he loaded his gear and then we all watched in anticipation as he managed to navigate some small rapids just downstream of us.

We met a group of irishmen heading in our direction and they constantly overtook us as they would get lost at every intersection. We had a good laugh at their expense - often. God , however, had the last laugh, he put this small hill on our route. We all, only just managed to get up the hill, PUSHING our bikes, 20% is like a vertical cliff.

We made it to Ehingen and checked in to our hotel, quite a nice building, recently refurbished but tastefully keeping indications of its origins.

We went out to this pub for dinner and John had great fun taking all the pebbles out of the window gardens.
