Hi, we took a day trip down to Lucerne today.
Gambled on the cloud clearing marginally or not getting worse before 9. Didn't really pay off, got glimpses off the lake from the top of Pilatus, plus snowing and really cold. We were up on the observation deck and could see nothing and Wend had just gone back inside when I took one last glimpse and the cloud had miraculously cleared momentarily,.
I called out "Meeg , meeg come and look.", Wendy was confused but got the message. We headed back down and walked around the town and then jumped back onto the train, if left about 2 minutes later and as we pulled out of the station the skies opened and it bucketed down.
Back to Zurich, it's actually a really nice place, great location, we are on that walk that you found, neat.
Better go tidy the table for tea,
Tomorrow we head for Constance and Kimbers.

Pilatus |
Pilatus, also often referred to as Mount Pilatus, is a mountain massif overlooking Lucerne in Central Switzerland. It is composed of several peaks, of which the highest (2,128.5 m (6,983 ft)) is named Tomlishorn.
The cable car at Kriens can be reached by the Number 1 bus that leaves from Lucerne central train station. It is then a short 10 minute walk to the cable car, following the Pilatus signs. |

Lucern |
Lucerne is a city in central Switzerland, in the German-speaking portion of the country.
Lucerne is an ancient town with strikingly modern sensibilities. One of Europe’s oldest covered bridges serves as its centrepiece, and fresco-adorned historic houses line the streets, but it’s also home to the cutting-edge KKL, a concert hall and art gallery. |
