Heading west we came to a little village, Chatillon sur Colmont, as we cycled down the main street a few locals stood and applauded us as we drove past. Riding through town we found it heavily decorated with cycling paraphenalia.
Other towns along our route were similarly decorated, Saint Denis de Gastines, Larchamp & La Chapelle - Janson.
That night we checked the Internet and the Tour de France had been here the week before. The Tour guide described the section as 230kms of rolling terrain, I had been in low range on a few of the hills, I guess they were not on touring bikes carrying all their worldly possessions.. The camping area at Fougeres was even better than the previous night.
