Chenonceaux to Loches, France
11th July 2018
Another gentle days ride down to Loche.

Loches is a very pleasant medieval riverside town in the department of Indre-et-Loire,  resting on the banks of the Indre River.

Guidebooks actually have it 'listed' as a town of Art & History as well as recommended detour (plus beau detour). Its narrow, traffic free streets in the old town could be the same ways travelled by the kings, queens and heroines of its medieval past.

On entering town we encountered the market, it was huge, we wheeled our bikes through the markets from one end to the other for 45 minutes.

We then found the road to head south to the camping area which ran along beside the river under the cliff upon which is built the ancient walled city containing the Chateau, Le Dungion and the Cathedral.
