| We crossed the Three Nation Bridge back into Germany and followed the Rhine river down to the intersection with the Grand canal d'Alsace. The canal is twice the size of the Rhine from here.We then crossed the canal at the big Hydro-electric dam of Kembs. We kept following the canal till the Canal du Rhone au Rhine which we followed into Mulhouse.
On this day Australia play France in Kazan, 800 kms east of Moscow in the opening round of the World Cup. As we enterd the outskirts of Mulhouse it was clear that I was not going to get to the camping area and have time to find a TV. So I peeled off and went looking for a pub where I could watch the game. Wendy continued on looking to get her tent up and her head down. |
