The original plan for today was to travel from Inverbloom to Inverness, from the West coast to the East Coast.
We started with the grind up the A835 to the intersection with the A832where we headed back west for a few kms to Corrieshalloch Gorge.
Then we retraced our steps to the A935 and headed East up to Loch Droma as per the previous screen.
From there we progressed to Loch Glascarnoch on the left hand side of the road. This is a man made loch, 7kms long, forming part of the Conon Hydroelectric Power Scheme, The dam has a 510m dam wall at the eastern end which stands 28m tall.
Just past there is the Aultguish Inn and the road follows along beside Black Water, crossing it at the Black Water falls on down to Garve.
At this point we decided the road was getting too busy and the verges were non existant so we would take advantage of British Rail and catch the train the last 30 kms into Inverness. |
