Torridon to Kinlochewe, Scotland
26th May 2018

We went to sleep on a barmy spring evening in a sparsely polulated camping area and woke up surrounded by vehicles and tents and a gale blowing in from the Arctic.

We spent some time deciding if we would even bother trying to ride or just book in to the Youth Hostel next door and spend the day in the warmth admiring the view down the Loch,

Eventually we decided to give it a go, seeing as how we had to pack up all our gear anyway.

A truly horrible day, howling gale blowing straight down the gully we were riding up. It was quite difficult keeping the bikes on the road and the slightest change of direction was fraught with danger.

We wound our way up the valley for 10 or 12 kms and then a pleasant downhill run to Kinlochewe. Hot chocolate at the The Gorse Bush cafe and then round the corner to the camp site. Unfortunately, despite being empty they didn't allow tents.

Disappointed we headed off but a few kilometers down the road Wendy noticed a sign for a public toilet. We rode in and there were toilets and water so we unpacked and setup camp for the night.
